A teenager has spoken of her grief after her dying boyfriend shouted 'my heart' while on the phone to her.

Seventeen-year-old Sophie Evans was on the phone to her boyfriend, 16-year-old Reece Cullen, when he was attacked. She has now revealed her pain saying she wouldn't wish the horrible feeling on her worst enemy.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, she said: "He was stabbed and I just heard him screaming. Then the phone went off.

"He was just saying he was walking out the front door to come around. That's when he was struck. He said, 'I'm on the way down to you baby,' then I heard him screaming, saying, 'My heart, my heart'. Then that was it."

Reece was attacked and killed in broad daylight in Tallaght, Dublin last week.

At a post mortem, it was found that Reece had suffered one stab wound to the heart.

Reece's death is another devastating blow to the family who lost Reece's mum, Ann Marie Cullen, just months before the attack.

A teenage boy was arrested but has since been released by gardaí (Republic of Ireland's state police) without charge. The murder weapon is yet to be found.
