Great news for Ireland and the Irish, legislators have passed a bill that makes medicinal cannabis use legal.

The bill, passed in Ireland's lower house, seeks to serve those suffering from life-threatening or debilitating illnesses like cancer and MS. Cannabis is known to work as an anti-emetic in chemotherapy patients and greatly improve their appetite and personal health.

The news follows the recent surge of cannabis regulation changes around the world.

In November last year, a school in New Jersey allowed medicinal usage in pupils at the hands of a parent or guardian.

The bill is set to move to the Dáil's committee stage, so Simon Harris, a health minister, will be advised on the values of the Class B drug as a medical antidote.

Although the UK has fairly progressive views on cannabis legalisation, it is yet to follow the suit of some U.S states and its neighbours in Ireland.
