Ding, Ding, Footage Emerges Of Charles Bronson Having A Scrap

It’s pretty brutal, but shows that perhaps ‘Britain’s Most Violent Prisoner’ isn’t exactly the mindless thug that you might think he is.

Charles Bronson is famously hard as nails. But have you ever wondered what a fight with him would be like?

Short, would be my guess. Luckily, though, there is a video of Bronson going at it in the boxing ring during one of the short periods of the last 40-odd years that he's been out of prison.

As it turns out, he isn't quite the thug that he is widely thought to be.

Well, he is, as he spends much of the fight battering his opponent relentlessly, but at one point he lands a combo that hints at a much more cultured fighting style than you might expect.

He manages to fend off a jab and land a perfect counter punch, knocking his opponent out.

Right, that's not arguing that he is some misunderstood genius, let's remember that he is known as 'Britain's Most Violent Prisoner' for a lot of pretty good reasons.

He is widely known for incidents that include (but are not limited to) attacking prison officers and other prisoners, hostage taking, rioting (carrying a spear that he made out of a broom handle and a broken bottle) and allegedly killing a Rottweiler with his bare hands.

But, believe it or not, he does have a softer side.

He has become a very successful artist in recent years, and his work has won awards and been displayed on the London Underground system.

He has also spent time with children with Down's Syndrome, and published a book about how to work out in a small space (having spent enough time in solitary confinement to know about that).

More recently, he has auctioned off his art for a child with cerebral palsy and even got married for a third time last month.

He now goes by the name Charles Salvador, after Salvador Dali, one of his favourite artists.

His wife, Paula Williamson, says he is not the violent thug that he is often portrayed as in the media.

She was quoted in The Sun as saying: "He's so eccentric, but so am I. It's a perfect match. I know he has a public image of being a violent prisoner, but in reality he is so different.

"I do know Charlie and this is the real deal. I'm very excited to be his fiancée because I'm in love with the man and that's God's honest truth."

Despite his softer side, it's probably still not worth stepping into the ring with him, even if he is 60-odd.
