There Are Some Essential Games Missing On The PlayStation Classic Console

No Crash - seriously?

When Sony announced they would be relaunching the original PlayStation console in December, pre-installed with 20 classic games, they made nostalgic 90s gamers' Christmas wishes come true.

The only question was, which 20 classics would come with the PlayStation Classic console? Inevitably, excited gamers shared their top 20 lists online and, inevitably, not everybody agreed. However, the vast majority of lists went something like: 'Ok, so Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, Tony Hawk are obviously dead certs. So now to determine the other 17..'

But today, Sony announced the full list of pre-installed games on the console - and somehow neither Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider or Tony Hawk are on there.

You fucking what, Sony?

No Tony? No Lara? ... NO CRASH?!

Surely, when asked to think of a 'classic' PlayStation game, 99 percent of the population would name one of these three games.

But it's not just these bangers that haven't made the cut. Spyro fans will no doubt be flaming from the nostrils following the little purple guy's omission.

But it's not just dragons that have been left in the past - it seems dinosaurs are also very much extinct, with Dino Crisis left off the console. Cult favourites Sukoden II and Castlevania also haven't made the cut.

Reportedly, many games have been left off because remakes have since been made for newer consoles.

'What the flaming mackerel is on there then?!' I hear you cry.

Well, luckily, the list is not devoid of classics, despite the high profile exclusions. The complete list is as follows:

- Battle Arena Toshinden

- Cool Boarders 2

- Destruction Derby

- Final Fantasy VII

- Grand Theft Auto

- Intelligent Qube

- Jumping Flash

- Metal Gear Solid

- Mr Driller

- Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

- Rayman

- Resident Evil Director's Cut

- Revelations: Persona

- Ridge Racer Type 4

- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

- Syphon Filter

- Tekken 3

- Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six

- Twisted Metal

- Wild Arms

... Salivating once again? Or you still feeling bad for poor ol' Spyro?

As well as including the above games, the console also comes with two wired controllers.

N.B. Wires were basically like long shoelaces that carried electricity, controllers used to need them in the 90s and, if you were really unlucky, your stupid dog would walk through them and drag your console off your shelf and smash it to bits. Even though two decades have since elapsed, and the dog has long since been put down, forgiveness is no guarantee... if this happened to you.

The new version of the console is also 45 percent smaller than the original, meaning you'll have space for your Walkman on the same shelf (but make sure your dog knows to keep the fuck back).

The PlayStation Classic comes out on 3 December and is priced at £90 ($100).
