Even the tiniest of spiders give most of us heart palpitations any time they scuttle across the living room floor or randomly appear on your bedroom ceiling.
But then someone goes on Reddit and posts a photo of a huntsman spider in Australia, and all of a sudden those sweaty palms become SHEER HORROR.
The photo was posted by a user called Pomohomo82. Captioning the photo 'G'day mates, let's be friendssss!', the Redditor explained: "This big guy just jumped on my lounge window. He's so large he made a 'thump' noise when he landed and scared the hell out of me and the cat.

"I know Huntsman are supposed to be our friends but this guy is pushing the acceptable boundaries a bit."
That's definitely understandable, pal.
After someone asked how big the creepy crawly was, Pomohomo82 replied: "His body is about the size of the palm of my hand, so still room to grow."
"Aw it's just a baby, so cute when they're small like that," one Redditor commented.

I mean, sure, it wasn't as big as it could have been, but it was still pretty bloody sizeable.
Another person asked what Pomohomo82 has decided to call the spider - and although someone suggested 'Shelob', it turns out the beast had been named 'Geoffrey'. Classic spider name, that.
In a later comment, Pomohomo82 said: "I'm not planning to get rid of it. We've got a yard with some trees and he can live out there happily eating all the other bugs."
The shocking photo also prompted others to share their huntsman stories, turning the thread into some sort of spider support group.

One person said: "I was once driving across Harbour Bridge with a foreign friend who's terrified of spiders, when she suddenly grabbed and then scrambled out of her seat and into the back.
"I look over at the passenger window and see the same view as this pic. Massive huntsman practically the size of the window, sitting on the outside.
"Had to keep driving, while this thing slowly walked over to the front of the car and into the engine. By the time I could stop and lift the bonnet it had disappeared somewhere inside the car."
Another person wrote: "I lived in Hurlstone Park for 8 months and I would either wake up or come home to a huntsman in my room at least once every 2 weeks.

"Moved to Tempe in March and haven't seen one... but like you I am starting to worry. They're coming for us."
Then, of course, let's not forget the similar scenes that one woman in Queensland called Lauren Ansell endured.

Ansell uploaded a picture and video of huge huntsman spider, which she nicknamed Aragog after Hagrid's pet in Harry Potter.
The monster appeared on their glass door while they were cooking food, but according to Lauren it didn't seem too harmful. That was until they moved towards it to move it and it got a bit aggy.
"My partner was on the outside trying to cook our food. We didn't want to kill it, but it didn't like us for trying to move it along," Lauren told Daily Mail Australia.
"It's still alive and happy. I nicknamed it Aragog."
