Three Women Get Upgraded To Business Class Because There's No One On Their Flight

Three Women Get Upgraded To Business Class Because There's No One On Their Flight

This is the stuff of dreams.

For most of us the only time we'll get a glimpse of business class on a flight is when the curtain separating it from economy is left open.

These girls got a taste of the classy experience, though, and all for the price of a normal ticket. They got to glug champagne and have all the leg room they desired because they were the only people on board the British Airways plane.

The flight was originally meant to carry 150 passengers, but when it was delayed a lot of people who were waiting to board were squashed onto an earlier flight. Then came three friends, Laura Stevens, Sarah Hunt and Laurie-Lin Waller, who showed up late.

They were then put on the original flight, but bumped up to business class for their two-and-a-half-hour trip from Gibraltar to London Heathrow.

The lucky trio were treated to a three course meal, got to sit in the cock pit and partied like celebrities.

"It was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience that we'll never forget," Laura said. "We felt like celebrities, especially when we were given champagne - it was the best Christmas present ever, we couldn't believe how kind and lovely everyone was."

Having stayed in Gibraltar for three days, they checked into their flight online. And when they saw it was delayed by three hours, they purposely arrived late to have a bit more time on their trip.

"We were the only people in the departure lounge so staff let us use the executive suite, which is usually reserved for business flight passengers," Laura said. "Then we mentioned how we'd hoped to buy our family gifts at the airport, and staff opened shops so we could browse.

"It was as though we'd hired out the place just for us."

That's not bad, is it? They claimed they felt like they were on a private jet thanks to the lightness of the craft and how freely they could roam.

They even got through passport control quickly, which is basically unheard of. This was certainly an experience to savour, girls.
