These are amazing.

Unfortunately, in a time that now feels like it was a decade ago, Pokémon Go pretty much ruined the whole brilliance of the fictional world.

Don't get me wrong, for two weeks or so, the mobile app was the dog's bollocks. It was like being thrown head first into a world we all wished we could have been a part of when we were growing up. Sadly, though, after catching 72 Pidgeys, 87 Drowzees and one too many Zubats, it became boring.

Now, if you see someone in street still searching about for pocket monsters you genuinely question whether or not you have accidentally stepped into a time machine. Either that or you have to contemplate that, for some people, the game is still relevant.

Despite it's short lived tenure, it is the closest we'll ever get to being one with the creatures.

To further our imagination concept artist Joshua Dunlop creates very realistic depictions of Pikachu and his cronies. It's obvious that they're very good images, but it is a little bit unsettling in places. For example, Squirtle is the epitome of cute, yet if you came across Charmander you'd fuck right off.

Joshua uses Photoshop, Keyshot, and the digital modeling platform 3D-Coat to bring the Pokémon to life, imagining them as real animals.

Having studied for his Masters in Concept Art for Game and Animation at Teesside University, graduating in 2015, he's a freelance artist and has worked in both hospitality management and the film industry, both in front and behind the camera.

No matter how popular Pokémon is at any given time, it's important to consume it in moderation.

Unbeknown to the majority of us, it's actually dangerous. Just check out this footage that emerged online back when Pokémon Go was fresh, of the moment a man becomes 'possessed' while playing the game.

The video shows a Brazilian native pinned to the floor in Rio Grande do Norte, screaming and shouting out for Pokémon.

Capital.pe reported that the man allegedly told officers that he was waiting in line at the bank when he got 'strange thoughts and lost control'.

Following the Pocket Monster inspired outburst, the trainer was arrested and taken to a police station in Natal, according to reports. He was eventually released on bail.
