A heartbroken dad has filmed the moment he had to tell his son that his mum has died of an overdose.
In the video, which he uploaded to YouTube and shared on his Facebook page, Brenden Bickerstaff-Clark sat down with his friend and his son and explained the terrible news.
"I have something to tell you, OK? Mommy died last night," he says as he holds the boy's hand across the table.
The shocked little lad asks how, and Brenden tells him that it was drugs. Understandably, the boy then breaks down and is comforted by the friend.
With such a raw issue as this, there's bound to be controversy and the clip has gathered lots of attention on social media. Some of the people making comments believe that Brenden was wrong to do this so publicly, with people posting that he should be ashamed of himself and that it was 'ridiculous'.

However, others backed Brenden, who wrote that he posted the video to raise awareness.

He said: "This is for any and every addict with children. Today I had to tell my eight-year-old son that his mommy died from a drug overdose last night. This is the realisation and reality of our disease. Don't let this disease have to make someone tell your child that you're dead because of drugs.
"I am a recovering addict myself with 94 days clean today... please share and maybe help save a child's parent's life."
Earlier this week we saw the shocking video of two parents overdosing while their children tried to wake them, as well as a man laughing as he filmed addicts.Featured image credit: Credit: Facebook/Brenden Bickerstaff-Clark
