Admirable.

This month you may notice men with one of their finger nails painted, and their reason for doing so is admirable.

An Australian non-profit organisation called YGAP has created the social campaign which aims to raise awareness surrounding violence against children.

The campaign is called Polished Man, which is now in its third year and once again is raising money to help one in five children who suffer physical and/or sexual violence before the age of 18.

The likes of Chris Hemsworth and Tyler Blackburn have 'nailed it', and YGAP want you to, too.

Elliot Costello, the CEO of the organisation, started the campaign after he met a young girl named Thea, at Hagar International in Cambodia, who had been a victim of physical and sexual abuse.

According to the YGAP website she suffered the horrific abuse after being sent to an orphanage. After meeting her, Costello bonded with her, and came up with the idea for the nail painting after Thea painted his nails before he left.

"The power to stop this is on your hands," Costello wrote on the website. " It starts with painting a fingernail. That nail leads to a conversation. That conversation inspires a donation. That donation allows for prevention and protection."

Women can also help the campaign by telling people they 'prefer a #PolishedMan', as well as painting only one of their nails, rather than all of them.

So far the campaign has reportedly raised over $257,000.
