Conman Dresses As Pilot To Scam Air Hostesses

A lot of people will push the boat out and make a bit of extra effort to make sure they get what they want.

Most of the time you'd be forgiven for telling the odd little white lie to win someone over or get your way, but there is a line you have to be careful not to cross.

Twenty-five-year-old Rido Roeslan well and truly crossed that line, taking it from telling porkies to a full-blown scam.

In similar fashion to the film Catch Me If You Can, the Indonesian wore a pilot's uniform and targeted air hostesses.

According to reports, he managed to convince 50 women to agree to go on dates with him, but told them he'd need them to send money for him to attend.

Telling them he had time off work, he'd ask for £300 to be wired over before tucking his wang between his legs and disappearing.

He allegedly managed to con his way to 200 million Indonesian Rupees - the equivalent of £12,000, according to Police Chief Commissioner Zainal Azhab. Unfortunately for him, he was found out after he was caught trying to steal an iPhone.

"After getting the money, the perpetrator would disappear, and change the name and number of his cell phone," Police Chief Commissioner Zainal Azhab said. "There are transfers of one million to five million Indonesian Rupees. We will try to find all the victims who've cheated to help develop the case.'

''Data from the police shows he targeted a total of 50 flight attendants."

The victims were apparently all working at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Indonesia.
