President Obama Reportedly Pursuing A Career In 'Digital Media'

Obama coming to TheLADbible?

Sources have said that President Barack Obama has been discussing a career in digital media following tomorrow's inauguration of Pres-to-be Donald Trump.

Is Obama going to be TheLADbible editor-in-chief?

Sources say Obama treats media very seriously, and that he is considering a Netflix original or web series, even launching his own Oprah-style media empire. This was fuelled even more when he said in a podcast: "My instinct is everybody hates media right now... that has to be an opportunity."

White House communications director, Jen Psaki, however, denied these rumours, telling Mic in a statement: "While the president will remain actively engaged in inspiring young people and he is interested in the changing ways people consume information, he has no plans to get into the media business after he leaves office."

In a recent Rolling Stone profile, Obama said his post-presidential career would be governed by the question: "How do we rethink our storytelling, the messaging and the use of technology and digital media so that we can make a persuasive case across the country?"

What will he actually do, though? What do we actually know?

So far as domesticity is concerned, the Obama's will move to a house a few miles from the White House, in Washington DC.

Obama has expressed interest in writing again, and a post-term memoir will be highly likely given the advance royalties being as good as they are.

Having already penned two bestsellers, 'Dreams From My Father' and 'The Audacity of Hope', the president can expect an advance of around $10-15 million (£8-12 million) for a tell-all book, according to literary agent Harvey Klinger.

Former presidents George W Bush and Bill Clinton received $15 million (£12 million) and $7 million (£5.7 million) for their memoirs, respectively.

On top of that potential money, Obama will definitely be receiving a presidential pension currently set at $205,7000 (£168,000) for 2016.

He and wife Michelle will also get money to 'maintain an office'. Doesn't everybody in the working world do that? Where's our money?

Personally, I'm holding out for Obama to pursue a music career.
