You wouldn't think Disney would have any moral restrictions on its productions. This is the company that gave us deadly sibling rivalries, drunk elephants, gunned-down mums and Nazi-sympathising ducks. Alas, the animators and writers do have guidelines to abide by.
Pete's Dragon director, David Lowery, recently cleared this up when he revealed the three things that are an absolute no-go.
Speaking to Ain't It Cool News, Lowery revealed: "You can't have smoking anymore! The scene in that movie that had the biggest impact to me was Pinocchio smoking a cigar and turning red. When you sign a contract with Disney, the things it says your film cannot have are beheadings, impalement or smoking. Those are literally the three things you are not allowed to put into a Disney film."

So does this mean technically Disney characters can still vape? Beheadings and impalement, sure. I get that. But come on, these characters' lives are tragic enough, give them some release.
I'm surprised Nemo didn't turn to meth after his ordeal.
