You won’t forget that name in a hurry.

To some degree, it's not right to judge anyone on their name. But this lad from Marlborough, New Zealand is actually called Mc Lovin and we're lovin' it (couldn't help myself)!

Born Gary Fisher, Lovin was friends with a guy called Tim Crowe for about six years before he found his mate dead on the side of a railway track in London in 2005.

After battling with deep depression following the sudden death of his friend, Gary moved from London to the south coast of England, where he met his partner, Lydia Martin. Shortly after that, he decided to change his name to stand as a daily reminder for him not to take life too seriously.

"It makes people happy, even if they are taking the piss," Lovin told Stuff.co.nz. "They always have to see my licence before they believe me."

Lovin was inspired by the name from the movie Superbad, in which a teen gets a fake driver licence with the name Mc Lovin.

He did not recommend that other people struggling with depression should change their name, as it's "not for everyone". However, he added that big changes in his life helped change his perspective.

"My advice would be, it's good to talk about that stuff, don't bottle it up," he adds.

I think that's a fair enough reason to always have something to talk about in the pub if the conversation dries up at any point.
