Maltesers Have Been Shrinking Behind Our Backs For Years

Maltesers Have Been Shrinking Behind Our Backs For Years

More chocolate devastation.

To be honest, I'm still trying to get my head around the recent changes to the traditional Toblerone. I'm on the edge here and don't know how much more bad chocolate news I can take.

If you decide to go for the Maltesers in the snacks aisle next time you're feeling peckish, just be aware that they're nothing compared to what they used to be.

I'm sorry to be the person who brings bad news but the bags have been shrinking behind our backs for years. And there was me thinking that I was just getting bigger...

One retail worker, who seems to have a lot of time of their hands, noticed the reduction and decided to share the findings on Twitter.

As you can see, the label on the shelf in the supermarket gives the price for a 121g pack and yet the actual packet itself has a weight of 103g. That's a reduction of 18 grams or 14.8 percent.

Interestingly, if you try to buy a 121 gram pack of Maltesers on supermarkets' websites right now, you'll find they are 'currently unavailable' - but you can buy the 103g packs.

Steve Dresser, who provides food retail insight for clients, also noticed an error between the label weight and the package weight on Galaxy Counters.

I can't take anymore. Thank goodness M&M's have some good news and will be introducing a new flavour to the mix next year. It's good to see that not all chocolate manufacturers are ruining indulgent moments.

What do we want? More chocolate. When do we want it? Now!!! What do we want? More chocolate. When do we want it? Now!!! What do we want? More chocolate. When do we want it? Now!!! What do we want? More chocolate. When do we want it? Now!!!

I think I've made my point loud and clear.
