When it comes to flying we all prepare for the worst - delays.

In reality, it's just more time to mooch around duty free, get a bit more pissed at the airport bar, and eat another Burger King.

Jeremy Clarkson, however, isn't about that life.

The former Top Gear host didn't fancy checking in at the designated time, which was early morning, and then waiting around in the airport for his flight which wouldn't leave until after lunch because of delays.

He was informed of a four hour delay from Gatwick to Kefalonia, Greece, and so decided to wait in his home until the new departure time, meaning his luggage wouldn't be on the same flight as him.

"[I wasn't going to] spend time mooching around the shops, not smoking," Clarkson wrote in his column for The Sun. "Being obtuse, I decided not to bother. Which meant that they didn't bother to put my suitcase in the hold."

Because of the decision the 56-year-old made, it meant the budget airline, Norwegian, which Clarkson claims to 'paint its planes so they look like penises', had to deliver his luggage to an odd location.

"This meant they had to deliver it to where I was staying. Which was on a yacht, an hour's speedboat ride from the airport," he wrote. "Serves them right."

Clarkson's new show, The Grand Tour, will air on Amazon Prime this Autumn.
