Cee Lo Green Reveals Why He Wore That Weird, Gold Shit At The Grammys

Left people scratching their heads Sunday night.

At Sunday night's Grammy Awards, Cee Lo Green took the spotlight by dressing as... as a... well, nobody had a clue to be fair.

The best similarity made to his strange gold outfit was made by one punter on Twitter who compared him to a Ferrero Rocher.

Now, we have an answer.

As it happens, the new get-up is apart of Green's alter-ego Gnarly Davidson.

He wrote in a statement earlier this month to XXL: "Look at me... LOOK AT ME! YOU DID THIS TO ME CEELO GREEN, YOU FUCKING IDIOT. BUT I LIKE IT, I'm actually...BETTER! Than you... than everyone! A karmikaze upon you! Vengeance is mine sayeth GNARLY DAVIDSON. P.S. TECHNOLOJESUS saves.

If that wasn't enough, Green confirmed the change via Twitter two days ago.

The Twitter for Gnarly Davidson links through to a new song titled "Fuck Me, I'm Famous" and its more-PG version "Love Me, I'm Famous" which follows the suit of "Fuck You" and "Forget You".

Gnarly Davidson isn't C3PO though. He's not all about the gold. At the Grammys pre-show, Green wore a similarly weird-looking, black outfit too.

The persona change comes two months after grainy, B&W footage of Green becoming victim to an exploding smartphone in his recording studio was "leaked".

The video, obviously, went viral. Green then decided to apologise for the clip, and admitted it was a fake.

In a Facebook Live stream, the rapper said: "Truthfully, I'm really upset that anybody had to be emotionally disturbed by what they saw today.

"Actually, what you saw today was a clip from a smaller video that we were shooting for a new project I'm doing called 'Gnarly Davidson.' It's supposed to set up and introduce the new character identity, you know what I'm saying?"

"First and foremost, for everybody that love me and care about me, I just want to say that I'm okay," he added. "I just want to thank everybody for their love and support and concern."

The only thing I'm concerned with is the fact Green is arsing about music when he clearly should be door-knocking Hollywood agents ASAP. Amazing method acting.
