Martial arts and acting legend Jackie Chan has been awarded an Oscar after more than 56 years in the industry.
The honorary award was handed to him by Chris Tucker, whom he co-starred with in Rush Hour. Tom Hanks and Michelle Yeoh also joined the celebrations at the Governors Awards in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Due to the nature of his roles, Chan has regularly missed the opening for an Oscar despite holding a legendary status in film history.

"After 56 years in the film industry, making more than 200 films, after so many bones, finally..." he joked.
"I continue to make movies, jumping through windows, kicking and punching, breaking my bones."
Honoured to be apart of the ceremony, Tom Hanks also lamented the fact martial arts and action comedies were overlooked at awards shows
While I have you, may I suggest watching Project A, Drunken Master and Police Story. All solid Jackie Chan films.
