Gaming is usually one of those things that go over the heads of pensioners, along with vaping, Face Swap and Rihanna. But I'll tell you about someone who defies this: Bridget Odlin.
Bridget Odlin is a 72-year-old retiree who loves video games.
It was love at first sight after she bought her son a Nintendo Console 30 years ago.

And what started with a few cheeky shifts on Super Mario has now blown up into an eight-hour-a-day habit.

"Ever since Super Mario came out, I've just loved playing them," Odlin said. "We bought my son one for his birthday one March and by Christmas, my husband had to buy another for me because I wouldn't get off it."

Odlin isn't arsed about overtly violent games like Call of Duty, which she brands 'boring'. She loves Final Fantasy and Tomb Raider.
"The older kids like all this war stuff but I'm not interested in that," Bridget explained. "I just find it boring - all that killing.
"There's a lot of shooting in Lara Croft, but there's more to it than that and I like working out the puzzles in the game."

Such is the commitment to her habit that Odlin, a grandmother to nine, has recently had eye surgery in order to better herself at the role-playing games she so adores.
"Before I had my eyes done, I couldn't see the instructions on the screen properly but they're brilliant now."
Odlin refutes the idea that the elderly inherently dislike gaming and even revealed that her friends game too.
"My friend plays. She's my age and I'll go round to hers and have a game.

"There's a lot of older people who like to play, but some can't do it all."
