This Guy Is In Serious Friendzone After Going To Give His Mate A 2am Hug

Sweet or a bit desperate?

There's a lot of dispute regarding the 'friendzone'. Loads of people say there's no such thing, because guys and girls can be mates without there being any sexual connotations. However, for those who feel that they have been 'friendzoned' - it's as real as real can be.

It goes both ways, though. I remember admitting my feelings to a pal and then the crippling embarrassment when they revealed they didn't feel the same way. There's no going back, we drifted and I never really spoke to him ever again. I guess the real definition of the 'friendzone' is just 'one friend who has feelings that aren't reciprocated'.

This guy is so deep in the friendzone he may as well get all his post diverted there because he's in for a long haul.

Jeffrey and Nicole are bezzies. When she was feeling down at 2am and said she needed a hug, he snuck out and went to meet her. What a legend.

This is one of those issues in life that you can relate to How I Met Your Mother. What a show. In one episode (season eight, episode 15 to be precise) they speak about the Dobler/Dahmer Theory (whether something is 'charming' or 'alarming'). The basic premise is that a gesture is deemed either either way simply by how it is received. They reference Lloyd Dobler from Say Anything (sweet) and the serial killer and sex offender Jeffrey Dahmer (not sweet).

We got this Covered explained: "Basically, if you're into someone, you're willing to accept an action as sweet, when it may otherwise be considered creepy. We've all seen many guys do totally innocent and sweet things, and end up being called creepy since the girl wasn't into them. We've also seen guys do some very weird stuff that girls miraculously find sweet. This Dobler/Dahmer Theory ought to stick."

Twitter has decided that this guy is incredibly sweet (Dobler) and now wants the pair to get together.

Well, in her own words...

What do you think? Friendzone or thinly veiled love?
