The Apparent Reason For Minnesota United's Keeper's Howler Of An Own Goal Against Bournemouth

Nightmare.

You may have seen the rather comical video of Minnesota United's goalkeeper, Sammy Ndjock, scoring the own goal to end all own goals.

The keeper went to do a routine throw to one of his defenders when the ball seemingly became stuck to his gloves before being released at completely the wrong moment and ending up in the back of the net.

Minnesota United have seemingly revealed the reason behind Sammy's blunder and, although I'm sure the makers of his gloves would love for it to be the supreme grip of their product, it's actually because of jam.

Yep, jam, or jelly, if you're American.

Last night, Minnesota United FC posted a YouTube clip with the hashtag #BlameItOnTheJelly and it shows their no.1 making a jam sandwich, before showing his 'jam' covered gloves.

The video was apparently shot before kick-off, but was posted after the game.

Coincidence? Or just simply covering their backs?

Either way, it doesn't stop being funny.
