These Lads Have Been Sending Each Other The Same Birthday Card For 47 Years

These Lads Have Been Sending Each Other The Same Birthday Card For 47 Years

This is brilliant.

Birthdays can be a bit tedious, to be honest.

You're expected to get a card, in which you'll write the same message you wrote last year, and put in a fiver, which may as well be the same fiver the recipient gave you on your birthday.

It's pretty hard to fight the urge to write 'see last year's card for full details' on most cards you send, but these lads have found a way around that.

Cousins Bill and Steve have been sending the same card backwards and forwards for 47 years, simply scribbling out the previous name, and writing the next.

Inside, there's a pre-printed message which says 'Save this card. You can send it to ME on my birthday.' They haven't missed a year since 1970.

The photos of the card were uploaded to Reddit by the fiancé of one of the men's nephews, under the name LincolnsLostSpeach, and she said: "So over the past 47 years my fiancee's uncle and his cousin have been passing the same card back and forth.

"[I] should also mention the card only cost $0.25 when it was purchased in 1970."

After waking up and finding out she'd made it to the front page of Reddit, her fiancé's mother sent her pictures of the card which show just how battered it's become over the years.

It's this kind of dedication to laziness/friendship that I can get on board with.
