The House On Privet Drive From 'Harry Potter' Sold For A Ridiculous Price

The House On Privet Drive From 'Harry Potter' Sold For A Ridiculous Price

Presumably they fancy some time under the stairs.

As you've probably noticed, Harry Potter is rather popular. Not the geezer himself - he actually sounds like the kind of person we'd all hate at school - but the films are decent.

Because of that, things like visiting where all the magic was made at Warner Bros. Studios and taking a trip to King's Cross to see if there is actually a platform 9 3/4 is something a lot of people enjoy doing.

One attraction of the films is Harry's aunt and uncle's house on Privet Drive.

Harry squatted in the cupboard under the stairs for a good few years, prompting the question of 'what the fuck were social services doing?', and he endured a lot of misery in the Bracknell property.

Despite this, it's a sought after commodity and this has been proven by the fact that some punter shelled out a reported £650,000 for the gaff.

Presumably they're big Potter fans and fancy spending a few nights under the stairs and receiving mail via owls through the fireplace.

£650,000 is apparently a huge £200,000 over the asking price - but if you have that money to spend, and this is what you want to spend it on, then, hey, go ahead.

The house itself was only actually used in the first film, The Philosopher's Stone, and it was recreated for all the other appearances.
