We'll soon be able to finally see CM Punk in the UFC octagon.

There have been doubts over whether the former WWE superstar can cut it in Dana White's powerhouse promotion and, unfortunately for Punk, a recent sparring video shows that he might not be up to the test.

It has been two long years since the 'straight edge' superstar signed to the company and a recent YouTube series called 'The Evolution of Punk' has been documenting his transition from wrestler to MMA fighter.

The most recent episode in the series showed Punk, real name Phil Brooks, sparring. It didn't look good at all.

In truth, Punk does eventually grow into the fight, but doesn't really convince anyone that he's anywhere near the standard needed to compete in UFC. This is something he alludes to himself, saying: "I don't trust my punches, I don't feel it."

This particular video was filmed 28 weeks into his training, which occurred several months ago. Hopefully, for his sake, he has improved a lot since the footage was filmed. But being at that level 28 weeks into training doesn't seem too promising.

Despite what looks like a ropey start, it'll be very interesting to see what Punk can do after two years of preparation.

Phil 'CM Punk' Brooks is set to take on Mickey Gall in his debut fight in Octagon at UFC 203 on September 10.
