In a bid to cut down on toxicity.

Players who use hate speech will be banned from Siege for 30 minutes on their first offence, and two hours on their second and third offences. According to the game's code of conduct, players with three strikes against them could face a permanent ban.

This is all an effort to fight against toxicity, and Ubisoft it taking things very seriously.

One Twitter user sent them an angry Tweet complaining about his ban, and Ubisoft simply replied with one word...

Fans of the game were quick to applaud their no-nonsense approach when it comes to hate speech, with one person tweeting "Literally the only people worried when you crack down on toxic crap are people who are all about toxic crap. I applaud this system, kudos R6"

A section on Ubisoft's blog reads:

"Toxicity management is a priority we will be focusing on as a team over the next few years, and we have a few different ways we plan on dealing with it. Our end goal is to track negative player behavior, manage those that behave poorly, and eventually implement features that will encourage players to improve their behavior.

We have been working on some short-term changes that will quickly have an impact, such as chat improvements, and team kill tracking."

Well played, Ubisoft. Hopefully others will follow suit.
