If fans of the Bad Boys movies could name the third instalment anything they wanted, I imagine the overwhelming majority would opt for 'Bad Boys For Life'.
Well, you don't have to imagine any more because that's exactly what the third Bad Boys film is going to be called - Bad Boys For Life.
It couldn't be more perfect and it's for that precise reason I am personally so fucking excited for this movie to get made. They're clearly doing it for the fans.
According to Entertainment Weekly, though the title of the film has been decided upon, the release date is a bit more of a sketchy issue. The target date for release is January 2018.
However with Will Smith's schedule as busy as it is - he has to finish filming Collateral Beauty first - the January 2018 target is exactly that, just a target at this stage.
If they do manage to get it all finished by that date, it would mark 15 years since the last Bad Boys movie was released and 21 since the first was released back in 1995.
Fuck, I feel old.
Joe Carnahan has been asked to direct the new movie while Jerry Bruckheimer will likely be returning as a producer. The previous two films grossed $65 million and $273 million respectively.
You may be disappointed by the long wait before the film is actually released but at least we now have a title. The sooner Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back on our screens as Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett, the better.
We ride together, we die together. Bad boys for life.
