The Real Reason Danny Dyer Was Forced To Take A Break From Work

The Real Reason Danny Dyer Was Forced To Take A Break From Work

You mug.

Last week Danny Dyer was shown the Roger Moore by Eastenders' bosses and forced to take a break from the show due to his behaviour.

It was initially reported by The Sun that the soap's chiefs were worried about Danny, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, and gave him the break to 'sort his life out'.

He was slapped with an 'enforced break', which is set to last for a 'number of weeks'. Danny has become well-known for his boozy antics off stage; at the recent National Television Awards he was photographed looking worse for wear but who can blame him? His show had just won a fackin' award, hadn't it?

And who can forget the time he got bladdered and called Mark Wright a 'twat' at V Festival?

He also admitted to having a few cheeky ones on set, telling Jonathan Ross back in 2014: "There is a couple of good pumps.

"The thing is they try to put non-alcoholic beer on there but it don't come out properly so they change it every couple of weeks.

"After a long day I'll sneak over to the good pumps and have half a lager. I don't take the piss though, I don't want to get in trouble." It's a bit late for that, mate.

However, according to The Sun it wasn't the boozing that was the final straw, it was his 'violent mood swings'.

Sources on set told the paper that he walked around like he owned the place, spoke to crew as 'if they were nothing', and told them: "I'm God here."

The insider said: "People would be waiting to do a shot and he'd just walk off, going: 'This fucking job is shit.' This would be 'shit', that would be 'shit.'

"When he wasn't complaining, he would walk around the set like Lord of the Manor, bragging about how EastEnders would collapse if he left.

"A lot of the set guys and crew, who were backed up by cast members, also made complaints about how he would speak to them backstage.

"He was just plain rude. You would hear him talking to them as if they were nothing, saying things like: 'I'm God here, you just do the lighting.'

"He has had more leeway than a lot of cast members but patience was beginning to wear thin as schedules are extremely tight."

I feel like if you hire Danny Fackin' Dyer then you have to expect this sort of stuff. You mug.

His behaviour has also seriously pissed off some of the longer standing members of cast, including Ste McFadden and Adam Woodyatt.

Does he care about upsetting his cast-mates, though? Have a guess...

Last year he told the Radio Times: "Adam has played one role. No disrespect to Adam but that's not an actor. He's very, very efficient.

"But he's auditioned once in his whole career. Acting's about auditioning. And Steve McFadden, brilliant - but only ever played one role."

Does anyone else want to see a fight between him and Phil Mitchell, now?
