'No One's Gonna Fucking Kill Me, Alright?' - A Celebration Of Ross Kemp

'No One's Gonna Fucking Kill Me, Alright?' - A Celebration Of Ross Kemp

Happy birthday, mate.

Let's face it, Ross Kemp is the hardest man on telly. He swaggered behind that bar in the Queen Vic in a way Danny Dyer can only dream of.

Today is Ross's birthday, and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate this wonderful occasion than with a look at some of the most bat shit stuff he's ever done.

It's been an odd transition from soap-star to hard-man but Ross has smashed it and has definitely earned his place as one of Britain's hardest men. He travels to some of the most violent places on earth, not giving a single fuck along the way.

Like the time he just walked straight up to a suicide bomber in Gaza like it was nbd. The 24-year-old was armed to the teeth but Ross didn't let that get in the way of a good interview opportunity.

But my favourite Ross Kemp moment was definitely when he was ambushed by three men with guns in Papua New Guinea and he just casually pushed the gun out of the way and shouted: "Are you gonna kill me? No one's gonna fucking kill me, alright?" And they shit themselves and let him go. I imagine that absolutely destroyed the reputation of the armed gunmen, too, "Didn't you get had off by Peggy Mitchell's son?"

I was late to the Ross Kemp fan club. I just thought he was some guy off Eastenders but you can't argue against the fact the guy's seriously fucking awesome. He never shies away from the action and loves to get right in the middle of it, like the time he was part of a troop who were involved in combat with the Taliban and he was there doing a piece to the camera while bullets flew from both sides.

And even though he turned 52 today, he's not showing any signs of slowing down yet. Earlier this month, footage was released of him getting shot at by ISIS snipers for his latest documentary.

Speaking about this at the time, Ross told the Daily Mail: "We came under pretty intense sniper fire. You don't hear the bullets moving towards you - they're travelling too fast. Faster than the speed of sound. You hear the snap as they break the sound barrier and the snap as they hit the wall. You can feel the air pressure changing - you can feel the whoosh, the whip of the wind around the bullet. You can feel it." Scary stuff.

He also went to Norris Green in Liverpool, which, as I can vouch for, is rough as a badger's arse.

Fair play to the man, the scariest thing I have to do in my job is read the comments section.
