Director, writer and producer of Get Out Jordan Peele has won the Oscar for best original screenplay and his reaction was pretty amazing.

Peele, who also acts, is the first African American to win the gong for best original screenplay. So as well as a shiny new award for his mantle-piece he also goes down in the history books. Pretty impressive.

After being called up to accept his award by actress Nicole Kidman, Peele said: "This means so much to me, I stopped writing this movie about 20 times because I thought it was impossible.

"I thought it wasn't going to work. I thought no one would ever make this movie, but I kept coming back to it because I knew if someone would let me make this movie that people would hear it and people would see it."

He went on to say: "I want to dedicate this to everyone who let me raise my voice."

Before thanking his wife and his mum - "who taught me to love even in the face of hate."

While his acceptance speech was very well thought out and measured, his reaction on Twitter was a lot more relatable:

Get Out is also nominated for best picture, best director and best actor. Impressive.
