If you watch Game of Thrones, you'll have learnt to stop rooting for your favourite couples to make it by now. Let's face it, this is George R R Martin, there's like a 90 percent chance that one of them will die.

That was the unfortunate case for Rose Leslie's character, Ygritte, when she fell for the brooding Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) when he went over the wall.

Their relationship was amazing to watch but doomed when Ygritte was killed off. Fortunately, it wasn't quite the same fate for the actors as their love grew off screen and Kit and Rose tied the knot last year.

And, because they met on the show, we'll always get to see the moment they fell in love - or at least that's what Kit said in a recent interview with GQ Australia.

The 32-year-old actor said the time he and Rose spent together on screen it like a scrap book to show their kids one day of their early days together.

He said: "It dawned on me, recently. And I have no idea if we will, but say me and Rose do have children. They'll know. They'll be able to see the genesis of their parents getting together. Which is quite a wonderful thought, really."

Kit and Rose met on set back 2011, but, reportedly, started seeing each other in 2012 - something they kept pretty under wraps until 2016 when they first made their coupled-up red carpet debut.

Back in 2016 Kit told Vogue that, out of all the amazing things he's done in GOT, filming in Iceland back in 2011 was his favourite - this is where he met Rose.

He said: "Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love.

"If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love."

We're set to get our next dose of Jon Snow when Game of Thrones season 8 - the show's final season - hits our screens this April.

With Ygritte out the picture, Jon's moved on to different love interests and he was last seen finally hooking up with Daenerys Targaryen - we're definitely ignoring the fact that Bran Stark revealed she's his auntie. Awkward, right?
