There's no doubting that Karl Pilkington's not thinking before speaking attitude has entertained a lot of people.

Travelling as an idiot abroad, he hit our screens after the success of his, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's XFM radio shows, as well as The Ricky Gervais Show. He then later revived his role as a travelling buffoon in his own series The Moaning of Life.

In a recent Reddit AMA, the star's not thinking before he speaks take to life produced a fairly risky joke, off the back of a question he was asked about Harambe the gorilla.

Harambe was recently shot dead at Cincinnatti Zoo after a child fell into his enclosure.

Reddit user Humange asked Karl: "With the news about the gorilla being shot in the Cincinnati zoo, what is your take on the situation? I miss monkey news."

To which Karl's official Reddit account, Karl_PilkingtonAMA, replied: "It annoyed me that. There's only about 700 gorillas in the world and yet there's loads of kids."

Karl has never hidden the fact that he hates kids, so you can see where the comment stems from.

However, the joke could be construed as saying that maybe the fate of the gorilla should have been reversed.

Aside from the joke that has been labelled 'risky', there was some typical Pilkington in the AMA.

"What life lesson have you learnt that everyone should know?," he was asked by Hicko11.

To which he replied: "If you put your finger in and out of your ear it makes the sound that Pac Man makes when he's eating."
