I'll tell you what, Donald Trump's ears must have been burning last night.

It wasn't just Meryl Streep going in, House star Hugh Laurie took the chance to have a go when he was accepting his Golden Globe for his role in The Night Manager.

UK-born Hugh joked in his speech that these could be the last ever Golden Globes because the awards have the words 'Hollywood foreign and press in the title' which is basically a list of three things Trump hates.

It wasn't all politics and slagging off Trump, though. Some other attendees just decided to have a laugh, like Ryan Reynolds planting a massive kiss on Andrew Garfield after he lost out on a best actor award.

Brad Pitt also made a rare appearance at the awards, amid the news that his divorce has taken a nasty turn, and got a huge round of applause.

Matt Damon was particularly pleased to see his Ocean's 11 co-star. Look at his face:

In terms of winners, La La Land was a big winner of the night, picking up prizes for best motion picture - musical or comedy, best performance by an actress in a motion picture - musical or comedy (Emma Stone), best director for a motion picture (Damien Chazelle), best musical score, best original song (City of Stars), best screenplay for a motion picture (Damien Chazelle) and best actor for a performance in a motion picture - musical or comedy (Ryan Gosling).Featured Image Credit: PA
