Crank Yankers Is Being Rebooted For The Digital Age

There's no word on when the show will air but we can't wait for this.

Ah, the days of prank calling, how good they were. Probably not for the people receiving the phone call but if that was your style of fun it could provide entertainment for hours.

It was such a big trend that Comedy Central made a whole show about it in 2002 called Crank Yankers, which was done with puppets.

The program was discontinued in 2007 and we were forced to watch re-runs.

Well, that time is now over, according to Variety, after Jimmy Kimmel, who used to produce the show, announced it was being rebooted for the digital age.

The new look puppets will be 'pranking on phones, social media, e-sport platforms and any venue where trouble can be made'. Sounds like a laugh.

In a statement, Kimmel said: "Crank Yankers has always been my favorite show to make.

"Nothing is more fun or makes me laugh harder than a great crank call and I am thrilled that Comedy Central asked us to do it again. At this time, I would like to ask all Americans to disable their caller ID. Thank you."

Deadline reports the show has been commissioned for 20 episodes and you can bet that there'll be tons of celebrity guests on the show just like old times.
