It seems that now, more so than ever, we're having a shit ton of superhero movies shoved down our throats.

Some are good, some are average, but some are so forgettable that it's not even worth explaining why they were bad.

Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy, who appeared in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy as Scarecrow, has made some scathing comments about all the current superhero movies out there, and he's pretty much spot on.

Speaking to Vulture, the 40-year-old said that he has no idea where any of the film concepts are coming from, as it feels like every comic book has been turned inside out.

"Have they exhausted every single comic book ever? I don't know where they're coming from anymore," the actor said. "It was a different time back when we made Batman Begins. I think that Chris has to take credit for making that trilogy of films. I think they're so grounded in a relatable reality."

Murphy added that he doesn't watch Marvel films as they don't appeal to him, but he does have a prediction for the direction superhero movies are heading.

He said: "Batman in his movies just did a lot of pushups and was, like, British. So that's what I loved about them. My kids love the Marvel movies, but I don't know. I don't watch them.

"I reckon they're going to make a movie of Rice Krispies starring Snap, Crackle and Pop. I'm hoping to play Crackle."

10/10 would watch.
