They say patience is a virtue, especially if you're a fan of the Marvel Avengers franchise.

It seemed as though the Russo Brothers were never going to tell us anything about the final installment, and then just before Christmas, finally dropped the trailer for Avengers: Endgame.

Though that got us through the festive period, fans have been getting fidgety for more news on the series' finale, and we might just have it - as it's been reported that Marvel fans in the UK will get to see the movie a day earlier than those in the US.

Yes, a whole day.

The release date had been set at April 26, but according to Comscore, it has been brought forward slightly and will now hit cinemas on Thursday, April 25 - which would fit with the timeline given by the Russo Brothers earlier this month.

This means there are just 85 days to go until the - no doubt emotional - conclusion to the blockbuster franchise hits the big screen and fans can finally find out what happens to some of their favourite characters.

The release date for the new film has been brought forward by one day for fans in the UK.

One of the big worries has obviously been the fate of Iron Man himself, Tony Stark, who in the trailer is stuck in a pod, floating aimlessly through space, with no sign of a rescue coming anytime soon.

The trailer shows the billionaire tech genius seemingly losing all hope. resigned to the fact that his luck has well and truly run out, as he records a final message for his fiancée Pepper Potts.

A tired Stark stares into his Iron Man mask and says: "Dear Miss Potts, if you find this recording don't feel bad about this. Part of the journey is the end. Just for the record, being adrift in space with zero promise of rescue is more fun than it sounds.

"Food and water ran out four days ago, oxygen will run out tomorrow morning and that will be it. When I drift off I will dream about you. It's always you."

Concerned Marvel fanatics even contacted NASA, asking them to do something to save their hero from almost certain death.

But it's not just Iron Man who has a question mark over his head - there are tonnes of questions still waiting to be answered in the new film, like what happened to Hawkeye, where is Rocket, and what about Shuri?

Chris Evans' contract with Marvel is also up, meaning the possible final farewell to Captain America.

Spider-Man looks set to be rescued from the snap, however, after makers of the web-slinger's new film Far From Home admitted that it takes place in 'the minutes after Avengers: Endgame.'

As we know, nothing is certain in the Marvel Universe - but it seems we won't have as long to wait as we'd thought to find out.

What a difference a day makes.
