Fans Are Frothing Over The Extended ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Cast

While the names we all know and love are included on top of the cast list, there are some surprising names that appear further down...

Not since The Lord of the Rings franchise has a movie delivered a cast so diverse and incredible; and with just a few days until Star Wars: The Last Jedi is released around the world, it's safe to say that fans are getting pretty bloody excited.

We all know that it will continue on from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which had its fair share of decent actors on screen. However, if you have a quick look over the list of people that will be seen or heard for this latest instalment, you wouldn't be alone in being shocked and amazed.

Daisey Ridley, Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher and John Boyega will return as the main characters, Rey, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Finn.

But there are also some very interesting characters that have been thrown into the mix.

Gwendoline Christie, known well in the Game of Thrones universe as Brienne of Tarth, will reprise her role of Captain Phasma, the commander of the First Order's force of stormtroopers. Fans were a bit disappointed by the small amount of screen time that Phasma got in The Force Awakens, but they were also surprised that it was Ms Christie behind the chrome suit.

Andy Serkis will transform his face, body and voice for the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke. The incredible actor has, in the past, played an intelligent primate in the reboot of the Planet of the Apes franchise, Baloo in The Jungle Book, and obviously Gollum in The Lord of the Rings series - so he will be no doubt as mesmerising as always.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer, Inception) will be appearing in a 'voice' role which hasn't been specified - so keep your ears out for him coming in over the speakers. Director Rian Johnson has worked with Gordon-Levitt in the past with Looper and Brick.

We probably won't be able to tell which one is which, but it's believed Tom Hardy (Peaky Blinders, The Dark Knight Rises) Prince Harry and Prince William will all have cameos as Stormtroopers.

Take That's Gary Barlow is also making an appearance, and he revealed who he won't be, telling the BBC: "I'm not a stormtrooper but I am in it."

Thankfully Carrie Fisher had filmed all her scenes for the upcoming film before her untimely death just after Christmas last year. Her final scenes will reportedly give fans some 'emotional satisfaction' before we say a final goodbye to Princess Leia. Her daughter, Billie Lourd will also reprise her role as Lieutenant Connix.

It's set to be an epic film that will hopefully answer all the questions that plagued fans when The Force Awakens came out.
