Family Guy is usually known for its close to the bone humour and pulling no punches when it comes to celebrities and trending topics.

Seth MacFarlane has always been known as someone who gave all of his fucks away a very long time ago, and that's why we love him - but even he knows when to change the pace. In a recent episode of the show this was obvious.

Carrie Fisher voiced the character of Angela, Peter Griffin's boss at Pawtucket Brewery, for 10 years. The show also did a trilogy of episodes which parodied the original Star Wars films, with Lois Griffin taking up the role of Princess Leia, taking Fisher's connections with Family Guy deeper.

Because they loved her so much, at the end of a recent episode they paid tribute to the late actress, who passed away in December.

Obviously a huge fan, MacFarlane tweeted his admiration and love for Fisher, saying: "Carrie Fisher was smart, funny, talented, surprising, and always a hell of a fun time to be around. Family Guy will miss her immensely."

Carrie's voice will appear on two more episodes of Family Guy, which she recorded prior to her passing.
