Whatever Elon Musk wants he most probably gets. He swept Amber Heard off her feet after her divorce from Johnny Depp and then his company casually launched one of the most powerful and technologically advanced rockets in history - just to name a couple.

Now, he's dating hip musician Grimes, who he reportedly met around a month ago and whisked her to the Met Gala last night - talk about impressing a girl.

Apparently, the pair met after Grimes, real name Claire Elise Boucher, directed a video for the song Venus Fly which impressed Elon so much that he tweeted her with a bit of Musky praise.

It seems the pair have a lot in common, in particular their understanding of artificial intelligence.

According to Page Six, Musk had planned to tweet a joke but discovered that Grimes had already made it and, to rub salt in the wounds, she was three years ahead of him.

The one-liner was about the complications of artificial intelligence.

Let us explain. They were joking (or trying to) about a thought experiment called 'Roko's Basilisk' which is about an all-powerful artificial intelligence from the future that punishes those who did not help bring about its existence.

Elon's joke was to merge this thought experiment with a pun using 'Rococo', referring to the ornate French 18th century baroque style, potentially pointing out that both concepts are too extreme and, well, ridiculous.

That's some joke - we're creasing... It's the way you tell 'em...

As reported by Page Six, in 2015, she created a character named 'Rococo Basilisk' for a video of her song Flesh Without Blood.

She told Fuse: "I don't know if you've heard of Roko's Basilisk.

"[This character] is doomed to be eternally tortured by an artificial intelligence, but she's also kind of like Marie Antoinette."

SpaceX and Tesla founder and all round LAD Musk has been very public in his past fandom for Grimes. He tweeted out her video with Janelle Monae for the song Venus Fly, saying: "Best music video art I've seen in a while."

There's nothing like a good bit of appreciation.

The tech billionaire also tweeted his approval of her Spotify playlist Go Flex & Psycho. Grimes told him: "Glad ur finally listening to cyberpunk speedwae hahaha." He hit back: "Sounds great riding my cyborg."

Grimes shot to fame in 2012 with her third studio album, Visions, and also put out the critically acclaimed Art Angels in 2015.

She was studying degrees in psychology and philosophy, with minors in Russian and electro-acoustics before she dropped out of school to follow her music career. As you do.
