A lot happened at the Golden Globes this year but one of the more surprising things was Hacksaw Ridge star Andrew Garfield giving Deadpool funnyman Ryan Reynolds a big smack on the lips as.

Ryan Gosling had just beaten his fellow Ryan for the "Best Actor" award and Andrew wanted to show his mate support.
"I just wanted Ryan to know that I loved him, no matter whether he won or lost," he told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. "I just wanted him to know that [winning] doesn't matter, it's how you play the game. He showed up, he gave his all, it doesn't change anything in my heart."
That's... kind of cool, Andrew. He sounds like a great mate to have. And then Andrew shows that he's totally comfortable kissing all his male friends by reenacting the kiss with Stephen Colbert.

In fact, lads kissing each other as a sign of affection for their mate is nothing new. According to the Daily Mail, researchers at The University of Bath found that 89 percent of white men at university would kiss their pals on the lips to show friendship.
One of the researchers, a PhD sociology student called Adi Adams, said: "We noticed that more and more men were kissing each other in clubs or after scoring a goal as a form of celebration, and many would put pictures of themselves kissing their friends on Facebook."
Adi is heterosexual and admits when he first kissed a friend at university it was weird, but now seems like a normal part of their friendship.
"It doesn't feel that it threatens my masculinity or heterosexuality," he said, "Instead it is becoming part of acceptable masculinity and heterosexuality."
After all, men have close friendships, too, as Andrew and Ryan demonstrated. It's good to really value that friendship.
