Depending on how savvy you are in the kitchen, some people can spend hours putting on a Christmas feast. While there are some staples to the annual meal, ordinary chefs might try and whip up something special for everyone.

Add in extended family members and you're suddenly catering for a dozen people, which means you might have to get more cutlery and plates and maybe even a bigger table. While some people might shoulder that burden and crack on knowing that you're feeding your family on Christmas (you know, the day about giving), it appears that others feel that burden should be shared.

Introducing Gemma Andrews, who is charging each family member £30 to enjoy her festive meal. The mum-of-four went on This Morning to explain how she's sick of having to go above and beyond to feed her family.
She told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: "The very first year I opened my house to everybody on Christmas Eve I got let down by five people and I had so much excess food."
Umm, has Gemma ever heard of left-overs; arguably one of the best parts of Christmas time: getting to chow down on that delicious food for days after the big day.
Gemma went on to say: "The year after I tried 'bring a dish'. Come Christmas Eve, people said 'Oh I forgot to get it' and I'm running around trying to find a bag of prawns. It's more stressful."

Thankfully, the mum doesn't charge the kids when they walk through the door.
She continues: "My grandparents-in-laws come every year without fail - and if they didn't come they'd be sat at home on their own.
"They pay it in November."
Despite Gemma thinking it was a crafty way to ensure that everything was even-Stevens by the end of the day, her viewpoint wasn't exactly shared on social media.
One person wrote: "£30 to have Christmas dinner with your family are you crazy!!"
Another said: "£30 a head? £360 for 12 what a greedy mare. It doesn't cost that to do a Christmas dinner."
However, there were some people who pointed out that £30 isn't too bad considering how much you'd pay for a Christmas-sized meal at a normal restaurant.

Look, there's no denying that being the person to clean your place (before and after Christmas) as well as cook the big meal is exhausting and expensive; however, if you don't want to do it then don't do it.
