Homeless Man Spends Two Days Tracking Down Woman After Finding Her Bag

Daisy Owen was understandably distressed when she lost her bag in Bolton, UK, which contained an expensive iPhone and other belongings. But little did she know that a homeless man had stumbled upon it outside a pub, before making it his mission to reunite the bag with its owner.

Paul Calderbank started stopping girls all over the city and asked them whether they knew the 20-year-old, which was a pretty tall ask.

Eventually, he found a friend of Daisy's and asked whether he could get in contact with her.

Daisy then raced into the city and started asking homeless people where she could find Paul. He quickly double-checked that she was the woman who owned the bag before handing over the precious belonging.

Paul was worried for those 48 hours that someone would see him holding the bag and think that he had stolen it. So he decided to write a lengthy note and left it inside in case the handbag was taken from him.

The bag also contained the woman's driving licence, keys and around £10 in cash.

The note read: "Did not want to tell anyone in town because they would have tried to blag me saying it is one of their friends.

"Can't trust anyone in town and was worried in case anyone thought I was keeping it. I want to locate the true owner and personally hand all her belongings back to her, because I am an honest person now, because to me it feels so good to do the right thing.

"There is money in the purse and I have not taken a penny."

The 20-year-old wanted to repay Paul for spending two days trying to track her down. So, she started a fundraising page, which has so far raised nearly £1000 ($1,349).

Daisy met up with him again today to tell him about the online response.

She told LADbible: "He was so happy. He was talking about how he wants to get some new clothes and said that he wants to concentrate on getting out of the hostel as he's been there for 12 months and getting a place of his own.

"He's really overwhelmed with the support he's getting from not just the people of Bolton but the people all over the UK."
